Berlinerkranser (English: Berlin wreaths), “Berlinerkranser is considered as one of the “seven” in the traditional cookie round up for Christmas, with its rich aromatic taste, and they are many people’s favorite. The baking of these can prove to be quite the test, but the result will be the most delicious Christmas cookies. . . .”

“These buttery, wreath shaped cookies are easy to make and can be made ahead of time and frozen until ready to enjoy, so there is no need to stress minutes before – you can bake these whenever you have the time.”

 

 
 
 
    Ingredients:
  1. 2 raw eggs whites
  2. 2 hard boiled eggs
  3. ½ cup sugar
  4. 1 cup butter @ room temperature  
  5. 2 cups flour
 
    Directions:
  1. Put the cooked egg yolks through a strainer.
  2. Work the egg yolks together until smooth.
  3. Add sugar – beat well
  4. Work in the butter and flour alternately to form a smooth dough.
  5. Refrigerate 2 hours or longer.
  6. Take out a small piece at a time and roll into a long roll about as thick as a pencil or thinner.
  7. Cut in pieces about 4-5 inches long.
  8. Then form each piece into a circle, crossing the ends.
  9. Dip each into slightly beaten egg white, then into pearl sugar. (Pearl sugar can be purchsed at Ikea).
  10. Bake until delicately brown for 10-15 minutes at 350℉.
